Today was not totally a free day. we started off the day with breakfast at the host family. we had eggs, fresh bread , and fresh orange juice. we then met at the acadamia at 9:00 a.m. everyone piled into a bus and headed toward the orphanage. we got there and kids were running around and they were very happy to see us. we all went into a room where the rest of the kids were waiting. we sat down oround the room and soon there were little children hanging off of both arms. The kids at the orphanage did a couple of dances for us which was nice to see because the kids seemed very happy to be dancing for us. one kid even did a very good beat box. The alma group then did a dance for them and we did the hoki poki. We then served them the food that we all brought and they were very greatful for that. after they ate we went and danced with them. they had a great time. but we had to leave and the kids hugged everyone. it was bitter sweet cause we had to leave but we knew that our presence made the kid´s weeks. everyone was a little more thankfull for what we have.
we returned and ate lunch at the academia. patty talked to us all and thanked us for comeing and she hoped that we all had a good time. at 3:00p.m. the shaman came and he did a service in which he used herbs, eggs, and a guninea pig to heal or diagnose people´s problems. it was neat to see a different way of doing medicine. he told Will Allen many of the problems that he has had in his life but was off on a few.
