Galapagos Legend
From EcuadorWiki
The Galapagos Legend, operated by Klein Tours, is a 237 ft, 100-passenger ship, with a crew of 55. The rooms are standard twin cabins with two single beds and a private bathroom. The ship has four decks, a sun deck, boat deck, upper deck, and a main deck. The sun deck has a bar, Jacuzzi, and an observation platform for dolphin and whale watching. The Upper Deck has a boutique and souvenir shop, bar/lounge, library/reading room, and a large dining room. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner feature the very best of international cuisine and celebrated Ecuadorian dishes. The ship has central air conditioning, radio, telephone, and fax. The ship has snorkeling equipment for rent. There are 6 multilingual naturalist guides on-board and a resident physician. There are 5 zodiacs for ship to shore transportation, two 66-person, two 25-person, two 16-person, and two 10-person lifeboats. Because this is a small ship, the waves rock it around quite a bit. If your stomach is easily irritated, you may want to consider talking to your doctor for a patch or pill for motion sickness to make sure that you see more than your bathroom while on board.

Of course, the ship is only part of the experience. The real adventures happen on the daily excursions! Depending on the nearest island, there are several on-land expeditions. These are world-renowned tours that provide a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the famous Galapagos wildlife. Some tours will single out seals and iguanas while others focused on giant sea turtles and blue, red or white footed boobies. Also well known to the area are albatross, flamingos and frigate birds and the sporadic penguin. Whether taking these land excursions, or taking the occasional snorkeling route, you are in for an amazing experience when in the Galapagos Islands!
