About Me!
I am a recent graduate of Alma College with a major in Elementary Education and minors in English and Mathematics. I am currently looking for a teaching job, and may have to leave Michigan - which is ok, becuase I know my passion is in the field of Education and I cannot wait to have my own classroom. It is an exciting point in my life right now with everything that is going on! YAY!:) I am quite the traveler right now - just got back froma trip to Chicago, now going to Ecudaor, going to Montana this summer, and then bamb - a teacher in the real world! hahahI'm a camp counselor in the summer, acutally Assistant Program Director at YMCA Camp Pendalouan in Montague, Michigan. I'm super duper excited for summer because I love the outdoors and kids! So that is a little about me - Kelley! I'm excited to have the opportunity and valuable learning experiences as we travel to Ecuador! Yay Spring Term '07!
Why Ecuador?
I am choosing to travel to Ecuador for an amazing experience. What is Kelley looking for in her trip to Ecuador May 2007? She is looking for a great cross-cultural experience. She is excited to re-connect with the spanish language (it has been forever). She is excited to travel and embrace the people, the children in schools, her host family, and her Alma College spring term classmates! The trip to the Galapagos Islands will be phenomenol in the fact that I can bring back to the United States valuable educational resources for my students. I am eager to absorb all that I can in the three weeks that I am in Ecuador! I'm also excited for pictures - I have a secret love for photography!I'm super duper excited for two fabulous roomates - Andi Reeves and Lyndsey Piesko. We are going to learn so much from living with eachother, sharing unique experiences, and being resources for each other as future teachers! YAY! This will be an unforgettable trip!
Expectations!
Lots of expectations?! There are a wide variety of goals I have for the trip to Ecuador. This will be an amazing experience both personally and professionally!:) Erika Fitzgerald and I are excited to create a children's book - that will be an educational resource in our classrooms! Embracing this trip to the fullest will allow me to make unlimited connections in a learning environment for my students. I have many different and exciting ideas of how I am going capture the different aspects of this trip to the fullest after I return to the U.S. and as I begin my teaching career - so much learning, it is never ending! Wow!
