The day started pretty early with breakfast at 8 o´clock. After breakfast we all got on the bus and traveled to the volcano of Cuicocha. The crater of the volcano was actually a beautiful lake that we hiked a little ways around and was able to see a fantastic view. From there we went to the town of Cotacachi, which is known for it´s leather goods. While shopping there we got the surprise of a parade where we were able to see many horses doing fancy footwork. We spent about an hour in the town of Cotacachi. From there we went to go eat lunch. The resturant was called Puerto Lago, from our tables we had a fantastic view of San Pablo Lake and the Imbabura volcano. We also had delicious food which included pie for dessert, you´re choice of apple or blueberry. After looking around and taking pictures of the beautiful view we started our return journey back to Quito. It had rained while we were gone and the roads were flooded when we entered Quito, we even saw a truck stuck in a small lake in the middle of the road. Once we were finally back at the academia we all took our purchases and headed home to rest and pack for the Galapagos Islands, because we will be leaving for them early tomorrow morning.
